Enjoy this time of the year on our captivating and magical journey through Morocco.


Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora Draa Valley

We depart from Marrakech for Ouarzazate travelling through the High Atlas Mountains. The first place we will be stopping to visit is Ait Benhaddou: a fortified kasbah declared a UNESCO heritage site in 1987. Because of its outstanding scenic setting it is used as a set location for blockbuster movies, some you may know that were filmed there are: Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, the Mummy, Prince of Persia and Kingdom of Heaven.
We will continue on to Ouarzazate where we will be visiting the Kasbah Taourirt, and its theatre and museum on our way. Our journey continues through the Draa Valley (one of the most beautiful valleys in the country) to reach our destination. The first night will be spent at a charming Riad in Zagora.

Day 2: Zagora – Dakar Rally track – Ouzina Desert

After breakfast we will begin the second day of the trip. On our way we will discover the splendour of the palm groves in the Draa Valley. Also, our journey will take us on part of the Paris-Dakar Rally routes used in the Moroccan section of the prestigious race.
We will cross the Draa Valley, the Oum Geran Plateau, travel through Berber villages seemingly lost in the middle of nowhere and cross the black desert ergs. We will have a lunch break midway. Accommodation for your second night will be in Hotel Kasbah Ouzina.

Day 3: Ouzina Desert – Ouzina Village – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga

In the morning, after your breakfast, we will visit the village of Ouzina inhabited by just 14 families living in amazing adobe houses, we will also visit the bakery where women gather to chat while baking the bread, the association of Ouzina, the school and we will end up having tea with a local family. We will then continue to the town of Khamlia to enjoy the African percussion by the inhabitants. After the abolition of slavery in the early 1920´s the black slaves left the fields to work in the nearby mines and many settled and built this village.
From there we will drive to the dunes of Erg Chebbi where we will take a big tour of the dune. In the afternoon when we arrive at the accommodation we will change our 4x4 transport for the “8x8” camel transport. The camel guide will lead you into the desert where you will spend the night in Berber Haimas and sleep under a blanket of stars.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Valley of Roses

To enjoy the sunrise at the top of the dune you will need to wake up early, and, after breakfast, you will ride the camels´ back to the hotel to have breakfast, take a shower and collect your luggage. Our journey continues as we drive to Rissani: the economic capital of southern Morocco, we will be visiting its authentic Moroccan souk full of bright colours.
Then we will continue to the Todra Gorge, a spectacular valley formed by rock walls that reach 300m high. Your night will be spent in a charming riad.

Day 5: Valley of Roses – Dades Valley – Kasbah Valley – Marrakech

In the morning we will leave for our drive to Marrakech, you will see some of Morocco´s most beautiful landscapes: the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley and you will also see some famous Kasbahs: Kasbah Itran, Kasbah Ameridil and many others before we reach the High Atlas Mountains. Crossing this majestic range takes us over the highest drivable pass at Tizi n’Tichka at an altitude of 2260 metres and from there we descend to the red plains and the city of Marrakech below. You will be transferred to your hotel where we say goodbye.
