Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Pick up from the airport and transfer to your hotel. Free time to spend exploring at the famous square of Jemaa el Fna. Bed and breakfast in the hotel.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Todra Gorge

After your breakfast, we will leave Marrakech at our pre-arranged time. Our route takes us out over the plains and up into the High Atlas Mountains which we cross at its highest drivable pass of Tizi n´Tichka. We will continue our way through one of the most beautiful and lesser known routes from Marrakech through the Ounila valley and its spectacular scenery to the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou: one of the largest and best preserved of Morocco and declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1987.
It is also well-known as a location for filming some noted blockbusters, Lawrence of Arabia being the first in the early 60´s and The Gladiator in more recent years. From Ait Benhaddou we will drive to Ouarzazate, cross the Dades Valley and the Roses Valley toward Tinghir, an small and prosperous town with a beautiful panorama of contrasts between their homes and their palms and roses. This is the ideal starting point to get into the famous Todra Gorge, where we can stop to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Bed, breakfast and dinner in a hotel.

Day 3: Todra Gorge – Ouzina Desert

After breakfast, we will visit the famous Todra Gorge, and then we will drive south until we reach the desert through the Anti Atlas Mountains, several Berber villages, and the black desert known as hamada and then we will reach the Ouzina Dunes. We will spend the night in the Ouzina Kasbah hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4: Desert – Merzouga

In the morning, we will go to Merzouga, where the biggest dunes in Morocco are located. We will visit the village of Khamlia to listen to their amazing Gnawa music, have a tour of the region to see the different types of landscapes and enjoy local hospitality.
We will then continue on to our hotel. After lunch, in the late afternoon, we will ride the camels to the dunes to spend the night in a Haima in the middle of the desert, dinner and breakfast included.

Day 5: Merzouga – Fes

Today we have the long journey from Merzouga to reach Fes, we will take the road that goes through the Ziz palm grove, stopping in Midelt for lunch and we’ll continue on to Ifrane: known as Africa’s Switzerland because of its alpine architecture. We will spend the night in Fes.

Day 6: Fes

After breakfast today, your city guide will meet you at your accommodation to take you on a guided tour of the old medina of Fes. With around 9000 streets in the medina of Fes el Bali it is recommended to visit with a knowledgeable guide to find the way and to earn about its history and heritage.
There are many old koranic schools to visit, palaces, museums and mosques. The oldest university in the world that is still in use is in Fes: the Quaraouiyine Mosque. There are also many fountains as each neighbourhood has one and of course the souks and artisan quarters. Night with bed and breakfast in Fes.

Day 7: Fes – Ouzoud Falls – Marrakech

Today we leave Fes after breakfast and drive southwards in the direction of Marrakech. We will be visiting the magnificent Ouzoud Waterfalls in the middle atlas, a three tiered cascade that casts multiple rainbows as the sun catches the spray. You can also see the Barbary monkeys that live there if you take a walk around the woodlands and pathways. You can also feed them. After a lunch break by the riverside we will continue to Marrakech, on arrival you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Day 8: Marrakech

Today is the last day and we will transfer you to the airport in Marrakech in time for your departure. You may have time for some last minute souk shopping and sightseeing.
