A journey that will take us to visit the famous Kasbahs in Morocco


Day 1: Marrakech

Arrival in Marrakech. Our staff will pick you up from the airport and bring you to a charming riad. You will spend the night there (breakfast included).

Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Draa Valley – Zagora

We depart from Marrakech after your breakfast and drive towards the great Atlas Mountains on our way to Ouarzazate. We will make a stop to visit Ait Benhaddou: a fortified kasbah declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1987, a popular location as a movie set, many blockbusters were filmed in the region, for example: The Gladiator, The Mummy, Lawrence of Arabia and Prince of Persia. We will continue to Ouarzazate to visit Kasbah Taourirt and also for visiting the theatre and the museum. We will continue our journey through the Draa Valley: one of the most beautiful valleys in the country, to reach our destination. The night will be spent in a Riad in Zagora.

Day 3: Zagora – Dakar Tracks – Ouzina Desert

We’ll have a nice breakfast to begin the second day of our trip with energy. We will discover the splendour of the palm grove of the Draa River. Also, on this day, we will have a spectacular stage, where you travel on a track that was used in many editions of the prestigious Paris-Dakar Rally. The desert area will cross the Draa Valley, Oum Jrann plateaux, go through Berber villages lost in the middle of nowhere, ergs: dunes and hamada: the black rocky desert. In the afternoon we will reach the Erg Ouzina to watch the sublime sunset from the dune and then go back down to our accommodation which is located in the middle of desert.

Day 4: Desert Ouzina – Ouzina Village – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga

In the morning we will go to the village of Ouzina which is inhabited by just 14 families living in houses made of mud. We will stop to visit the bakery, a small house where women chat while baking the bread, then we will visit the Ouzina Association, and end up with having tea in a traditional house. We continue our travels to the town of Khamlia, a unique place where the descendants of the black slaves that used to work in the fields and mines settled. They are famous for their African percussion and Gnawa Music and dance. After our visit we will go to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, in the afternoon we will arrive at the accommodation in Merzouga where we will change the 4x4 for the “8x8” camels to go to the desert and spend the night in a Haima under a blanket of stars. On the way to the desert camp you can watch the sunset before descending to the bivouac, where a delicious dinner will be waiting, and local musicians playing the drums round the campfire.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge

We will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise at the top of the dune, and after breakfast we will ride the camels back to our hotel to shower and collect our belongings. We will drive to Rissani, the economic capital of the south of Morocco to visit their authentic Moroccan souk where the nomads trade all kinds of amazing foods and crafts full of colours. From Rissani we continue to the Todra Gorge, a spectacular valley formed with 300 metre high rock walls. The night will be in a charming riad.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast we leave this beautiful valley to drive through another amazing region. We will visit the beautiful Valley of Roses. This is the route of a thousand Kasbahs, and you will see many, some ruined and some beautifully restored. We will see some famous Kasbahs too, like the Kasbah Itrane and Kasbah Amridil before reaching the High Atlas to start our way back to Marrakech. We will take the return journey over the High Atlas Mountains via the highest drivable pass of Tizi n´Tichka, reaching 2260 metres in altitude.

Day 7: Marrakech

Today is dedicated to visiting the interesting places in Marrakech. You will have a guided tour of some of the monuments, museums and gardens which are part of the rich heritage of Marrakech.

Day 8: Airport Transfer

The day is yours to enjoy some last minute shopping and for relaxing until it is time for our staff to transfer you to the airport.
